General & Account

Download the Sunnis4Marriage app from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Open the app, tap Create Account, and follow the guided setup. You'll be asked to:

  • Enter your name, date of birth, and gender
  • Verify your phone number or email address
  • Upload at least one photo (which can be blurred for privacy)

Once registered, our team manually verifies your profile to ensure its quality and genuineness.

On the login screen, tap Forgot Password?. Enter the email address linked to your account and we'll send you a secure reset link.

If you registered with a phone number, you'll receive an SMS code instead. The link/code expires after 30 minutes for security. If you don't receive anything, check your spam folder or contact our support team.

To permanently delete your account directly from within the app:

  1. Tap the Profile tab from the bottom tab bar.
  2. Click Account Settings from the list of profile options.
  3. Select Delete Account and confirm.

This will permanently remove your profile, match history, and all data from our servers. Please note that this action is irreversible. Make sure to cancel any active subscriptions through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store settings first to avoid future charges.

If you would like to temporarily pause or hide your profile instead of permanently deleting it, please request support by emailing us at support@sunnis4marriage.com You can also send us message directly from the app though help and support screen. Type your message in the given text area and send.

Our support team will assist you in pausing your account so you can take a break without losing your matches, messages, and profile setup.

Tap the Profile tab at the bottom of the screen, then tap the pencil/edit icon in the top corner. You can update your photos, bio, Islamic lifestyle details (prayer frequency, diet, dress), education, profession, and location at any time.

Changes are reflected immediately for other users browsing your profile.

Matching & Etiquette

Matchmaking and matching on Sunnis4Marriage happens in three ways:

  1. Likes: You send a Like to a profile. If they Like you back, it's an instant match.
  2. Message Requests: You can send a Message Request by writing a custom first message. If the recipient responds, a limited chat opens. If you both agree to continue after, you become a match.
  3. Serious Interest: Send a Serious Interest with a custom note. Once they accept, you match instantly.

Once matched, the chat feature becomes completely free and unlimited for as long as you remain matched.

Our filters are very precise. You can filter by:

  • Sect (Sunni, Hanafi, Shafi'i, Maliki, Hanbali, etc.)
  • Prayer frequency (5 times daily, regularly, occasionally)
  • Diet (strictly Halal / Zabiha only / non-Halal restaurants)
  • Islamic dress (Hijab, Niqab, beard preferences)
  • Smoking and alcohol habits

Any filter marked as a Dealbreaker means we will never show you profiles that don't meet that requirement.

Open the chat or profile of the person, tap the options menu, and select Unmatch or Block.

Once blocked, the person immediately loses access to your profile and all chat history. They will not be notified that you blocked them.

Privacy & Safety

We offer two photo modes which you can toggle any time from your profile settings:

  • Public Photos: Your photos are visible to all registered members on the platform.
  • Private (Blurred) Photos: Your photos appear blurred to everyone. Once you match with someone, you can choose to send them a Photo Reveal Request. If they accept, only that person can see your real photos.

We also block in-app screenshots on supported devices to further protect your privacy.

We maintain a high-quality community through strict manual verification. Our dedicated moderation team manually reviews and checks every profile to verify quality, details, and genuineness. Profiles that are successfully verified receive a blue checkmark badge (✓).

We have a zero-tolerance policy for catfishing, fake accounts, scammers, or any inappropriate behaviour. Accounts failing to meet our guidelines are removed immediately.

No. Your public profile only displays the nickname you choose during sign-up. Your full legal name is stored securely in our database and is never shown to other users.

Your contact information (phone number, email) is also kept completely private and is never shared with other members of the platform.

If you encounter inappropriate behavior, harassment, or profiles that violate our Islamic matchmaking guidelines, you can report them easily:

  1. Go to the user's detailed profile page.
  2. Scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
  3. Click the Report User option.

All reports are handled with absolute confidentiality and are processed promptly by our moderation team within 24 hours.

Plans & Payments

We offer two premium tiers on top of our free plan:

  • Standard Plan (£24.99/month or £99.99/year): Increases your daily Likes, Serious Interests, and Message Requests. Access to advanced filters like ethnicity, profession, and height.
  • VIP Matchmaker (one-time £500): Unlimited daily quotas for life, plus a dedicated personal matchmaker from our team who actively searches for compatible profiles for you — even promoting your profile externally if you opt in.

The core features — matching, browsing, and messaging with your matches — are always free.

Subscriptions are billed and managed entirely through your app store. To cancel:

iPhone / iOS: Open iPhone Settings → tap your name → SubscriptionsSunnis4MarriageCancel Subscription.

Android / Google Play: Open Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → Payments & SubscriptionsSubscriptionsSunnis4MarriageCancel.

Your premium access continues until the end of the current billing period. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel the subscription.

Standard Subscription: All billing is handled by Apple or Google, and refunds must be requested directly from them as we do not have access to their transaction systems. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com (iOS) or contact Google Play Support (Android).

VIP Matchmaker Plan: We offer a 14-day refund window. If you decide the service is not right for you, contact us at support@sunnis4marriage.com within 14 days of purchase. Refunds may be declined if the personal matchmaking service has already been substantially started on your behalf.
